Cherie Aschenbrenner, Elderly Service Officer and Crime Prevention Specialist for the Elgin Police Department (Illinois), shares with us a special project that the Elgin Township TRIAD was able to accomplish last year, using funds which had been generated by their collection efforts for the 911 Cell Phone Bank program:
“Thru Elgin Township TRIAD, we collected $250 in cell phone money for the year 2009. With that money we purchased 50 personalized TRIAD tote bags. We filled them with items donated from our TRIAD member’s organizations. We gave them as Christmas presents to the seniors at Senior Services Associates Christmas luncheon on December 16, 2009.
Great way to give back to the seniors with monies received from cell phone donations.”
