Mr. Bill Salyers, Chairperson for the Clark county TRIAD / SALT Council, publishes a monthly notice for upcoming TRIAD meetings, complete with his upcoming agenda.   His agenda for the October meeting includes the following topics:  “Eyes of the Street”, urging seniors to be on the watch for activities in their neighborhoods.  He states that a 911 emergency phone could easily be used to report anything out of the ordinary.  From one of these phones, a totally anonymous call could be placed to the proper authorities.  Since there is no phone number associated with one of the 911 emergency phones, they cannot be traced.  Another topic concerns seniors who are planning to take a road trip, go biking or hiking  He states they  should carry a 911 emergency phone along with them.  As he says, “it’s safety insurance”.  Once again, it is totally anonymous and untraceable.  Perhaps your group has not considered these areas for possible usage.  If not, give them a try – better to be “safe” than sorry.
